Fractional CFO CostFractional CFO cost questions owners ask first
You're looking for fractional CFO cost questions answered plainly, and here are the ones owners put to us. Tax CFO Steven Palmieri leads this practice, and Steven and his team give the same answers on a call.
Ask about my fee
Why isn't there a price on this site?
The right amount follows the work, and the work follows your books and your plans. Companies of equal size can need quite different months. So the number arrives after a free look, on paper, with the scope next to it. Fees are set in writing before work starts.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. We price the month, so questions during the month don't cost extra and you aren't watching a clock. If a piece of work is one-time, we name it separately and price it before it starts.
Is the first call free?
Yes. It's a video call about your quote or your situation. You'll know what a fair fee covers before you decide anything, and there's nothing to sign.
Does cleanup of old months cost extra?
Yes, and it is named separately. Bringing months current is a project with its own size, so it gets its own date and amount before any of it begins. Should it prove bigger than expected, we pause and name a revised amount first.
Is my tax return included?
The scope says so up front, either way. It might sit inside the monthly work or be priced on its own, and whichever it is, you hear it before work begins. Tax planning inside the fee explains the planning side.
Do you charge to set up payroll?
Setup is priced as setup, one time, before it starts. Payday itself is run by a provider you pay directly. We don't process payroll.
Can the fee change?
If the work changes, such as a second entity or a large jump in volume, the fee may change. You hear about it first and the new number goes in writing.
Do you take equity?
We describe equity as one of the pricing models on how CFOs charge. Ask on the call what applies to your situation.
Is there a contract term?
Terms are written into your agreement before you sign. Ask for them on the call, and read them before anything else.
Do you sign reports on statements?
No. We prepare statements and don't issue reports on them. The line page explains who does.
What happens when we meet about a quote?
Bring the quote or quotes you have. We go through what each includes and what our fee would cover for your business. Nothing to sign, nothing to pay.
What else do you want to know about the cost?
